Piles of trash and overflowing dumpsters caused concern at a senior housing center in Colorado Springs. Several viewers have complained to our online sources about the smelly eyesore.

“It’s in the air. I can’t really even open my windows,” said Joyce Boehm, a senior citizen living at The Village at Homewood Point.

From Boehm’s balcony she could see piles of trash and overflowing dumpsters. Boehm said it’s looked like that for more than a week.

“It’s unhealthy. We’re all older residents we don’t want to get sick from anything. It upsets me, it makes me feel unhealthy. I worry about animals coming. I hate it, it’s filthy,” Boehm said.

The recycling company is supposed to come to the apartments three times a week. Boehm said they haven’t showed up.
